In Loving Memory of Claudette O’Malley

Our hearts are completely broken as we share that our beloved Claudette O’Malley, 75, of Brick, NJ, passed away on Monday, October 13. There are no words to describe the pain of losing her. She was the best mother, sister and friend anyone could ever ask for, and we will miss her beyond measure. Claudette was a woman whose love knew no bounds - fierce, loyal and steadfast. To know her was to be embraced by a rare and beautiful devotion. If you were part of her circle, you knew what it meant to be protected, understood and loved without reservation. She was the keeper of her loved ones’ dreams, secrets and fears - a trusted confidant whose compassion ran deep. Claudette made everyone in her life feel valued, supported and cared for in ways that will never be forgotten.

At the very center of her world was her beloved daughter, Lauren, the light of her life and the reason behind everything she did. Claudette’s love for Lauren was boundless - it shaped her every decision, guided her every step and filled her heart with immeasurable pride. She devoted herself to ensuring that Lauren would always have a life filled with opportunity, joy and the security of knowing she was deeply loved. Claudette was profoundly grateful that Lauren found such happiness with her husband, Hugo, whom she admired and loved as a son. Claudette shared an extraordinary bond with her sisters, Barbara and Stephanie - a connection built on love and the kind of understanding that only sisters share. Through life’s ups and downs, they stood side by side, offering each other unwavering support and strength. Their laughter, shared memories and endless love were a constant source of joy in Claudette’s life.

With her family and friends, Claudette loved nothing more than gathering around a table filled with good food, great conversation and the company of those she held dear. She believed that sharing a meal was one of life’s greatest joys - a chance to laugh, connect and make lasting memories. For Claudette, the table was never just about food - but about family, friendship and the joy of being together.

Those who knew Claudette will remember her remarkable inner strength and resilience. No matter what challenges she faced, she met them with courage and a calm resolve that allowed her to keep moving forward. She carried herself with dignity and determination, always focusing on what truly mattered - the people she loved most.

To her closest friends and everyone who cared for her, Claudette was just special. She stood by those she loved through every joy and every challenge. She celebrated your wins as if they were her own and offered comfort when you needed it most. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in every shared laugh, every story retold and every cherished memory.

Claudette was predeceased by her loving parents, Gabriel and Catherine Sparandero. She is survived by her daughter Lauren Clare O’Malley Perez (Hugo); and her sisters, Stephanie Lepore (James) and Barbara Montalbano Bonacci (Michael); and her nephew Christopher Montalbano (Meghan) and their sons, Aiden, Luca and Connor.

A celebration of life for Claudette will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 11 am to 2 pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Hwy. 88 Brick, NJ 08724.
