Not sure what to say?

As the years pass by, my memories of Connie Lewis remain warm and deep. What a lovey woman who generously shared her smile and laugh and deep understanding for the moment---whether it called for a happiness or sadness. A REAL FRIEND!

I join the many others who dearly loved Connie for the warm, empathic person she was. Her inner energy persisted even in darker moments, and her charisma was energizing. Connie knew how to be a good listener and a good friend. She made my world richer even though we saw one another less after she left Washburne School where we worked together. Yes, as one friend wrote, knowing and being with Connie--even in small doses--made the my world and the world of many others much better.

I loved Connie. I was Jenny and Cathy's babysitter in the 70's. I'm just now finding out that Connie passed away 5 years ago. She was a spit-fire and so wonderful to me. When my father passed in 2008, Connie read about it in the paper and found a way to contact me. We met in Chicago for lunch (I live in Boston). We had a wonderful time at the Art Institute. I will cherish that memory of seeing her again on that day. I'm certainly richer for knowing Connie. xx

I still miss Connie, as if it were yesterday that she left us! What a precious and dear friend she has been to me for so many years!! What great fun we had putting together the Alpha Chi reunions!!! And stayed so close, even
though thousands of miles away! Connie always made it like we were sitting in the same room when talking on
the phone!! And I can still hear her contagious laugh -- saying , "Helllllen"!!! I miss her everyday == her great
personal character, warmth --...

Another year has gone by, buy I can still picture Connie, with that great laugh of hers, chatting about some
issue or another! Always with an opinion , of course!! What a great sense of humor, as well as character always. Dear friends like her are carried in our hearts on a daily basis. They never dim! Nor does my love for
Connie! I cherish our friendship as much today as 60 years ago, when we were together at the Alpha Chi house in Madison...or planning one of our great...

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Connie, a sorority sister of mine at the University of Wisconsin. Connie was a
wonderful combination of strength and humor
and will be missed by all whose lives she
touched.

I met Connie at Washburne Middle School in Winnetka and enjoyed so many conversations with her for nearly 40 years. As many who knew Connie have said, she had a special warmth, a sparkle in her eyes that would grow lively as she began catching up with the life each of us was living. Connie was so warm and so welcoming. She continued to learn and intelligently develop new materials during her entire professional life. And, she was brave whenever bravery was called for. The world will be poorer...

Dear Cathy, Jenny, and Larry,

I was saddened to hear of your loss. I will always have fond memories of Connie from back in Evanston and also years later.

Sincerely,
Robert Caldwell

Connie and I have had a precious friendship for the last 61 years, that all started at the University of Wisconsin, Madison where we were sorority sisters.
What special years those were for a large group of us...and we have remained friends all through the years. She and I had the privilege and fun of organizing great reunions, the last, for our 50th!
Connie has been my cherished friend with such strong character, sense of humor, and undaunted determination when things got...
