Daniel Schast Obituary

Daniel William Schast, formerly of Malvern Daniel William Schast, 25, formerly of Malvern and residing in Los Angeles, passed away on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, in Santa Monica, Calif. Daniel was the beloved son of Patti Weathers Schast (Dean Jester) of Moorestown, N.J. and Philip Schast (Debbie Pope) of Havertown; Sierra Schast-Fleischer (Benjamin Fleischer) of Los Angeles, Calif. and Daniel were devoted brother and sister. He was the beloved grandson of Dorothy Winkle Weathers and the late William Weathers of Seattle, Wash. and the late Stephen Schast and the late Julia Rudic Schast of Philadelphia. He was the nephew of Steven Weathers of Wichita, Kan. and the late Craig Weathers. Daniel was a graduate of Great Valley High School and New York Film Academy in New York City. His passion, talents, knowledge, and love of filmmaking led him to Los Angeles where he was pursing a career in the industry. Daniel's passion for life, despite the daunting challenges and obstacles he faced was amazing. He has touched uncountable people with his loving heart, positive attitudes, and infectious sense of humor. A celebration of Daniel's life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7th at the Desmond Hotel Great Valley in Malvern. Visitation with the family at 10 a.m. followed by the celebration of his life at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Daniel's name to any of the following foundations: The Caron Foundation, PO Box 150, Wernersville, PA 19565; Beit T'Shuvah, 8831 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90034; Epilepsy Foundation, 8301 Professional Place, Landover, MD 20785; or Sudden Arrythmia Death Syndrome (SADS Foundation), 508 E. South Temple, Suite 202, Salt Lake City, UT 84102.

I am saddened to learn of Dan's passing. I remember him fondly from his time at KDM with my Bridget. He was adorable, friendly, and full of personality.
