DAVID SILVER Obituary

SILVER--David.

Passed peacefully on March 3, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and many friends. David was born on March 26, 1939. He grew up in Worcester, MA and attended Babson College. David was the founder and CEO of Regency Home Fashions. He was the driving force in the success of this privately held company from its creation in 1968 until his retirement in 1997. He also partnered with Jerry Dellafemina in the Red Horse Market in the early 90's. David was blessed with an extraordinarily generous spirit of giving and spent five years of tireless effort raising four million dollars to build the East Hampton RECcenter. David believed deeply in giving to the East Hampton community that brought him and his family so many years of joy. David, along with his wife Patricia, supported the college education of 11 East Hampton students through the PDS scholarship fund. They also donated several playgrounds in honor of their parents. Additionally, they were generous benefactors of the Ross School since its inception as well as the Chapin School in New York City. David had a boundless passion for life and was a lover of all things beautiful. He was curious about everything. There was never a dull moment in David's presence. After his retirement, he volunteered for many years with Learning Leaders of New York City mentoring and educating New York City public school children. David is survived by his loving wife of thirty years Patricia Walton Silver, his four children Michael, (Rebecca), Gabrielle, AiNhi, and Geige, as well as 10 grandchildren Johnny, Davis and Clint Silver, Maxwell, Wesley, Emma, MacKenzie and Raymond Morrison, Sen and Maia Horton. He was adored and beloved by his children and grandchildren all who surrounded him with love and laughter throughout his life and in his final days. A huge light has disappeared from our lives but his memories always bring smiles and laughter. Donations can be made to the "Y East Hampton RECenter, David Silver Fund." Service will be held at Frank Campbell Funeral Home, 1076 Madison Ave., on Friday, March 6, 11:30am.

A wonderful man with a wonderful spirit. My time working with him at The Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center meant a tremendous amount to both the kids at The Center, the community at large, and to me personally. Sending you, Patti and Geige, the warmest of thoughts.

Patti,
David's picture says it all...the smile and twinkle in his eyes exemplifies his love for life and people. I am sitting here now looking at his generous and thoughtful gift of an antique rose book he gave me long ago at our reunion in East Hampton. I will be with you, Patti, in spirit on Friday.
With love,
Dawn
