Funeral services for Dee Iva Goodgion Hamilton, 83, of Lubbock will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Dodd, pastor of Rising Star Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home. Dee Iva died on Monday, August 18, 2008 at her home. Born July 17, 1925 in Lubbock, she graduated from Shallowater High School, was a member of New Deal First Baptist Church, and a homemaker. She married Clifford Hamilton on April 13, 1949. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Beckie Jo, in 1972, three sisters and one brother. Dee Iva is survived by her husband, Clifford of Lubbock, a daughter, Sherry and husband, Don Proctor of Lubbock, a son, Gary and wife, Suzanne Hamilton of Lubbock; two brothers, T.Z. and Overton Goodgion, ; two sisters, Liza Diffey and Roberta West; six grandchildren, Jay (Sally) Proctor, Brad (Kristin) Proctor, and Rex (Amber) Proctor, and Talana Hamilton, Kyle Hamilton, and Cole Hamilton; and a great-granddaughter Julia Proctor. The family will receive friends at Sanders Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19. They suggest memorials to VistaCare or your favorite charity.
