It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Diego Martinez. Our family is devastated by the loss of our bright, witty, creative, and goofy soul.
Diego is a renowned chef in the Martinez household. He fixed any household problem and could probably most likely get your car running again. Truly a jack of all trades. It has been an absolute joy to experience such an amazing year with our resident grump. Beyond the tough exterior lies a gentle heart, goofy spirit, and a desire for connection. Diego left us on October 18, 2025. Our hearts are broken by this terrible tragedy. We will always have space in our hearts for Diego, and we'll miss his charm and they way he could make us laugh way too hard.
Diego is survived by his parents, John and Regina Martinez, his sister Brianna and her husband Brian, his brother Jacob and his wife Naomi, his little brother Elias, his grandparents Dora and Ed Rollinger, grandfather Roger Heintz, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Information for services: We are hosting a viewing and open sharing for Diego on Saturday, November 1st, 2025 from 10am - 12:30pm at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018. Formal dress is not required (not Diego's style). Wear your favorite DC/Marvel attire or a funny t-shirt.
Reception to follow from 1pm - 4pm at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #720, 4853 E. Thomas Road, Phoenix, AZ 85018. We are providing lunch. For those who wish to bring something, we welcome a favorite dish of yours to share.
