Not sure what to say?

Dear Mary Beth,
My heart broke when I saw the news of Don's death and I will think of him each year on my birthday as that is when he passed. Don became part of our large Italian family when he was at St. Anthony's in Renton. We had many great times with him and he would even come back to spend New Year's day with us after he left Renton. He was like a big brother to me and of course I was the target of his sharp wit and much teasing. His presence on earth will be missed. God bless you...

Don and I went to Holy Family grade school in the fifties. My sister, Nora, also went to grade school with one of Don's brothers. Don and I spent a lot time riding our bicycles around our White Center neighborhood.

So sorry to hear of his passing.

God bless.

A beautiful commentary on Don's life. We will all miss him deeply.
Love and Hugs to you, Mary Beth, as well as your family and Don's.

Don was ordained when I was a junior in high school at St. Edward's Seminary. He led a retreat for our class and was always free with a joke or an impression of Archbishop Connolly. I attended his first mass and saw him occasionally through the years. I had not seen him for quite awhile but saw him last summer at a Fourth of July party at Steve and Kelly's. I'm glad I got to see him then. I know he is at peace and getting a well deserved rest. My prayers are with his family - God Bless you!

We will always be greatful for the love and caring he gave to us, pointing us in the right direction to what is now a 30 year marriage. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and will always remeber him with a smile for all.

We have never met, but Don baptized our three children in Vancouver. He had dinner in our home a couple of times and we just thought the world of him. Such a nice, caring, compassionate man, and so much fun to visit with. You forgot he was a "priest" because he was just so "down to earth". Our lives have been blessed by knowing Don even a short time. (from Steve & Gayle Hoffman)

Werner was one of the most inforgetable, influential people in my life. He has been a friend to me for over 30 years. He gave me strength and courage and faith to believe in myself and my choices. 31 years ago he blessed and officiated at our wedding. It took!
We shared love, converstation, growing up, adventures, and most of all laughter. I miss you, you old fart!

Dear Mary Beth,
Don was always one of the "special" people in my life and that of my family. I was so touched to hear that Don and my precious niece Laura Lustig had met and made a bond of connection. I last saw Don (after many years) at Laura's memorial at Assumption Parish, January 2004. In his simplicity was his greatness.
My prayers are with you and your family.
Peace.
Pat
