Not sure what to say?

I just found out talking to a former colleague from Meridian Oil of Don's passing. I remember when I was being interviewed the person outside of his door when I came out said, "oh my, he hasn't spent that long with anyone in an interview". Well, I had a secret; I had fished off the Keck drilling barge and saw the Keck life ring hanging on his wall. ...........and the stories started. Don Clayton was one of the best mentors that I could have had. He surrounded himself with intelligent...

Don was one of the best leaders for whom many of us ever worked. He had a velvet hammer and we all knew he wanted us to succeed more than himself. I am indebted to Don in so many ways and would not have been able to effectively lead E&P companies, without the experiences he provided to many of us at very young ages. He will never be forgotten by me. A good man has been lost to the world. I am thankful to God that I was able to know and learn from him. Blessings to his family. Jim

Our Prayers for you and the family. God bless. Love Gehrig & Debbie

Don was one of the most influential men in my career and many other young engineers with The Superior Oil Co. His demeanor and guidance was unmatched. He always wanted and demanded the best out of all of his co-workers but always was there with support when times were tough. Many of us have had very successful careers because of him. He was one of the best and will truly be missed. God speed my friend.

So sorry to hear of his passing. What a wonderful gentleman he was.

One of the all time great gentlemen. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
