Donald S. Winograd

1930 - 2013

Donald S. Winograd, 82, passed away Nov. 26, 2013, in the arms of his wife, Marilyn, daughter Audrey, son Richard and sister Elaine.
Don was born in The Bronx, N.Y., on Thanksgiving 1930. His love of education brought him to the University of Chicago, Boston University and to Columbia University for his law degree. Following his admission to the Bar, he proudly served his country in Korea. Upon his return he worked for a New York law firm. In 1960, he brought his wife and 3-year-old daughter to Leominster, Mass. and became corporate counsel for the Foster Grant Company. Following a 10-year term, his family (now including a son) moved to Wilmington, Del., where he continued his profession with The Franklin Mint Corporation. This position took him to many countries of the world. He loved traveling and appreciated the traditions and cuisines of the people he met. Don loved to eat. Don and Marilyn moved to Citrus Hills in 1997, where he loved tennis, golf and friends. He was very connected to his Jewish heritage and was an active member of Congregation Beth Sholom.
Don is survived by his wife of 60 years; daughter; son; sister; grandchildren Jennifer, Deborah, Scott and Tatiana; great-grandsons Cebastian and Zander; nieces Julie and Andrea; and many family members and friends.
