In 1986, the Lotus Owners of NY (LOONY) were planning the Lotus Owners Gathering number 7 in Watkins Glen NY. One of the founding members had seen Doug's picture of a locomotive and we contracted with Doug to shoot our event. Little did we know that Doug was also a Lotus enthusiast and owned a 1971 Lotus Elan Sprint. Actually the first Sprint brought into the USA. Doug was a gentle and kind soul, a friend I could always count on for a hug when I got to our Lotus Owners Gatherings. I am going to miss seeing him for our annual lunch together. Saturday and Sunday at LOG will feel emptier this year, as his position at the top of a crane or behind the table will be empty. He will be missed more than words can express.
