Dr. Curtis Birchall, aged 70, passed away on December 6, 2023. He was born on January 20, 1953, in Akron, Ohio, to David and the late Elizabeth Ann (nee Sass) Birchall.
He was the dear brother of Ron Birchall (Charlotte) of Rossford, OH, Tom Birchall of Savoy, TX, Dennis Birchall (Laura) of Milwaukee, WI, Bob Birchall (Sue) of Greytown, OH, and Sandy Leopold (Todd) of Grand Rapids, OH. Dr. Birchall was a treasured uncle to Becky Huebner (Jacob), Hannah Birchall, David Birchall, Matthew Leopold, Chris Leopold, Stephen Leopold, Ron Birchall, and Cory Birchall.
He was also a loving cousin to Diane Easley (Mike) of Houston, TX, Val Dickey of Arlington, TX, and numerous others in Curwinsville, PA.
Curtis demonstrated exceptional intellect and determination from a young age, graduating from high school in three years. He went on to pursue an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering with prerequisites for Medical School, eventually graduating from the Medical College of Ohio in just three years. His journey continued with a Medical Residency at Akron City Hospital, where he honed his skills and embraced a lifelong commitment to caring for others.
For four decades, Curt practiced as a Board-certified Emergency Medicine physician. His impact reached far and wide, touching the lives of thousands of patients, colleagues, and friends.
In addition to his illustrious career in emergency medicine, Dr. Curtis Lee Birchall made significant contributions to the field of aesthetic and anti-aging medicine. In 2018, he founded The Fountain Clinic, a Med Spa in Rocky River, Ohio, that reflected his commitment to timeless beauty and cutting-edge treatments. The clinic's grand opening on August 24th, 2018, marked the beginning of a journey into the world of classic beauty, as envisioned by Dr. Birchall. The Fountain Clinic's dedication to beauty and personalized care mirrored Dr. Birchall's multifaceted approach to life, showcasing his visionary leadership not only in emergency medicine but also in the realm of aesthetic and anti-aging medicine. The legacy of Dr. Curtis Lee Birchall lives on through the enduring impact of The Fountain Clinic on its patients and the community it serves.
Beyond medicine, Curt was a man of many talents and interests. An accomplished pianist, he could play any song "by ear" after hearing it once, showcasing perfect pitch and a deep appreciation for classical music. In his younger years, he learned photographic film developing and contributed photos to his high school yearbook. His diverse interests included participation in the Latin club, founding the Triangle (STEM) Fraternity Chapter at his university, and working as a college radio disc jockey.
Curt's hands-on skills extended to restoring antique Packard automobiles, building electronic devices, and even learning to fly airplanes during his medical residency. His dedication to learning and mastering new skills was truly remarkable.
A fitness and health food enthusiast, Curt put exercise on hold in the past decade to care for his elderly parents, embodying a level of devotion and sacrifice that was nothing short of saint-like. His commitment to family extended to his role as the eldest of six siblings, where he served as the family's leader and rock.
Curt's love for travel took him to various corners of the globe, from South America to Japan, New Zealand to Australia, Europe to Alaska, and Africa. Yet, his favorite memories were forged during salmon fishing trips in Alaska with his father.
A man of diverse talents, Curt was also the founder and sole owner of "Curtis Medical Billing Inc," a software company he ran successfully while working full time in emergency medicine. His sense of humor, love for comedies, and board certification in anti-aging and regenerative medicine showcased the depth and breadth of his character.
In his personal life, Curt enjoyed windsurfing vacations, snowboarding trips, and the art of cooking, especially baking bread and cakes. He also took on the role of a beekeeper, embracing the beauty and complexity of nature.
Family and friends are welcome on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Slone & Co. Life Celebration 3556 W. 130th St. Cleveland, OH 44111, to celebrate the life of Dr. Curtis Birchall.
