Ned was a great inspiration to so many people. His love of life and learning took him to far corners of the earth and thought. Ned's seminal work in the study of how people use and experience space in communication launched inquiry into what is now more commonly referred to as "personal space."
It was an honor to have known and been taught by him.

Ned taught me about different cultures and spatial relations that led to my Phd and understanding of Pueblo myths, petroglyphs and how they view the universe. He was a pillar in my education and the biggest star on the movie screen. We made a fine film with him and I show it every year to my students. I will miss him very much.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
