Not sure what to say?

I met Ed playing softball in Tinley Park. He was Great guy and excellent Ump/Blu. I’m glad that he umped my last game of this season. Condolences to his family & friends on the passing of Ed. He will be missed

ED AND I WERE MORE THAN FRIENDS, WE STARTED TOGEATHER WITH JERRY WARFIELD, MIKE GLENN AT M&J ELECTRIC IN 1969. HE WORKED FOR ME FOR SEVERAL YEARS, HE WAS AN OUTSTANING ATHLETE, WE PLAYED GOLF AS OFTEN AS WE COULD, I WOULD CHIDE HIM TO TEE OFF WHEN PEOPLE WERE 300 YARDS AHEAD OF US AND I WOULD HAVE TO YELL FOUR BECAUSE HE WOULD HIT IT 320 YARDS. ED WAS ALWAYS KIND TO EVERYONE AROUND HIM I'LL MISS THAT BIG SMILE.

Best pure softball Hitter I've ever known. So sorry to hear.

I am so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. I will always remember him as a sweet, kind and caring person. And, an exceptional softball player! He was a great friend to my dad for many years and I know that friendship was very treasured. He will be missed. I always looked forward to seeing him and catching up, hearing about Spruce Lake farm and his family. My condolences to Bunny and the girls, you are in my prayers.

Sincerest Condolences to the Smith Family. I was fortunate enough to know Ed during his time umping softball in Tinley Park. What a great guy, always fair and so great to the Athletic staff that worked his games. Will be so missed.

Sweet Ed and my dearest friend Burny and all of the Todd-Smith family. We lift you in prayer and thanksgiving for sharing Ed with us. Ed was a bright smile and the best bear hug ever. Without Ed Smith there would be no Lodding Family for this we all are externally thankful. Your friendship over the last 40+ years will be remembered forever. Rest peacefully dear friend.
