San Antonio, Texas
Elia Susanna Alcocer entered the glorious gates of heaven on the afternoon of June 5th, 2015.
She graced the world with her beautiful presence on March 1, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas where she was a lifelong resident. Three days later, she was welcomed into the arms of her loving parents Nicolas and Elvira Escobedo. Although raised an only child, she was surrounded with cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends her entire life. She attended Holy Rosary Catholic School, followed by Providence High School, and in 1969 she graduated from Memorial High School. Her most important role in life was being a mother. Elia proudly brought into the world her three daughters Krista, Katrina, and Rita. She was born to be a mom.
In the early 80?s she found a new calling that allowed her to share her creativity and love of life to any occasion. Fiesta Balloons and Party Favors became a San Antonio favorite at birthday parties, weddings, political events and of course Fiesta Week. She was a devout Catholic who celebrated mass with the Holy Family, St.Luke, and her beloved St. Paul community where she became an ACTS sister. She instilled her love for the LORD and our Blessed Mother in her family. She was the most passionate cheerleader at any sporting event and her legendary cowbell could be heard at her kids, grandkids, and SPURS games. Her singing, dancing, cooking, sewing, and memorable pies will be greatly missed.
Elia was preceded in death by her parents, Nicolas and Elvira Escobedo. She is survived by her daughters, sons-in-law, step-son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Krista & Cecil Lara, Kayla, Rylee, and Ryan. Katrina and Josh Gonzalez, Abigail and Kaleb. Rita Hinojosa & Alfonso Alcala, Matilynn, Nicholas, and Austin. Gabriel & Bianca Hinojosa. Beloved Aunt and Uncle, Robert & Gloria Flores. Numerous Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Godchildren and friends. She was always late in life, but her entrance to heaven has come too soon. Mom, we will love each other until we are old and gray.
FUNERAL SERVICES
Visitation will begin Wednesday at 5:00 P.M. in The Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Thursday at 12:00 P.M. at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Krista, Katrina, Rita,
Your Mother loved you all so much. You and your kids meant the world to her. I can't tell you how much we will all miss her so much. We used to talk about how we were going to live to be 100 years old and be in the same nursing home but...................
God had another plans for her she was always so encouraging with her words of wisdom. The one thing I know for sure is she is celebrating and is whole again. How I envy her. God give you all the strength...
