Ellis Acy Frye Sr.

Ellis Acy Frye Sr., 81, born October 8, 1930, departed this life on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at his residence in Culpeper, Virginia.

He was the son of the late Forrest Frye and Bertha Frye of Rappahannock, Virginia. Affectionately known as "Acy," he spent most of his life farming in Rappahannock County before moving to Culpeper. He enjoyed working outside and keeping his lawn well-manicured. Ellis is survived by his wife, Arlene C. Frye; three sons, Ellis "Buck" A. Frye Jr. and his wife Debbie, Reginald L. Frye and his wife Betty, and Matthew E. Frye; three daughters, Cassandra I. Ross and her husband Gary, Lori A. Henson, and Nancy A. Murray and her husband Kevin. He is also survived by three sisters; Rebecca Kilby, Edna Banks, and Lois Starks; and one brother, Stoney Frye and his wife Geraldine. Ellis also leaves to cherish 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hampton Frye and his wife Victoria and Rufus Frye, and two sisters, Hilda Banks and her husband Hoover and Muriel Roy and her husband Bill. The family would like to graciously thank the Hospice of the Rapidan. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012, at Nazareth Baptist Church in Boston, Virginia.

Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. W.C. Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

My deepest sympathy to the family. Mr. Frye was a special man whom I enjoyed getting to know. He loved farming and the outdoors; and he especially loved his wife and children.
