Emerson was a great man who loved his Lord Jesus Christ. He, and Mariette, his wife, both served their church faithfully for many years. Our sons, now adult men, sat under Emerson's teaching in Sunday School. Both Emerson and Mariette were long standing members of our Bible Study and were serious students of the Bible. Emerson cared deeply about his family and friends and it was a pleasure to know him and serve with Him in God's work. He ran his race exceptionally well.

Emerson Smith was honest hard working man who was highly respected in his field, he was charitable, and well liked, but that's not what I remember him for. Emerson was my grandfather and he was amazing, he was my Sunday school, teacher, my first piano teacher, and my first employer as well. He was kind and and compassionate, and an amazing role model. He is missed by many.
