Emile Joseph Martinez Jr.

Emile Joseph Martinez, Jr. (E. J. / Chew), 79, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 5:30PM at his home in Gonzales. E. J. was a retired shift supervisor at Motiva Convent as well as a retired dispatcher with the APSO. He was a US Navy veteran and an avid sports fan. He is survived by his spouse, Jo-Ann Benoit; 3 daughters, Crystal Kleinpeter (Gerald), Stephanie Roshala and Shannon Blank (Jason); 3 stepchildren, Amy Ordogne, Gregory Benoit (Renee) and Toby Benoit (Vanessa); 1 brother-in-law, Harold J. Mire, Sr.; 9 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren and faithful companion, Ruby, their poodle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile Joseph Martinez, Sr. and Eurilda Mary Bergeron; brother, Larry Martinez, Sr. and sister, Audrey Martinez Mire. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 8:30AM until a celebration of life service at 11:00AM at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, celebrated by Chaplain Mike Scott. Entombment will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery, Hwy 30, Gonzales. Pallbearers will be Gerald Kleinpeter, Brad Roshala, Jason Blank, Gregory Benoit, Toby Benoit and Pierson Blank.
