I became acquainted with Eric while working at Amtrak as VP High Speed Rail. We have had a shared interest in advancing better transportation policy especially more investment in passenger rail. We worked together on many projects at APTA and the industry. Eric was someone who would always be willing to listen to a new idea. He would take time no matter how busy. He was a great friend and he will be missed but not forgotten. My condolences to the family.
