Archbishop Eugene A. Marino, 66, of New Rochelle, New York, a native of Biloxi, Mississippi, who was appointed fourth archbishop of Atlanta by Pope John Paul II, making him the nation's first black archbishop, died at St. Ignatius Retreat House in New Rochelle on Saturday, November 11, 2000. A Mass of Resurrection will be offered by the Salesians on Wednesday, November 15, 2000, in New Rochelle. Mass will be offered by the Josephites on Thursday, November 16, at St. Francis Xavier Church, Baltimore. A wake is scheduled for Sunday, November 19, 4-7 p.m., at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 815 Division Street, Biloxi. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 20, 10-11 a.m., at Cathedral of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Biloxi. A Mass of Resurrection will be offered on Monday, 11 a.m., at the cathedral. Arrangements entrusted to Richmond Funeral Home, Biloxi, Mississippi.
