EVA ANGELA THYEN Age 95, of Hobart, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 26, 2003. Eva was born September 4, 1908 in Chicago, IL to the late Nicholas J. and Eva A. Holzmer. Eva moved to Hobart in 1917 and has been a Hobart resident ever since. She was an active member of St. Bridget Church and past president and member of St. Anne's Confraternity of Christian Mothers, a former CCD Teacher at St. Bridget for many years. She loved to crochet, bake, write letters and always remembered birthdays of family and friends. She led a prayerful life and was greatly admired and loved by all who knew her. She is survived by 3 children: Eva (Ray) Boessel of Wirt, MN, John (Joan) Thyen and Jane (Jim) Krause both of Hobart; 3 brothers, Robert (Margaret) Holzmer of Nashville, TN, William (Joanne) Holzmer of Saratoga, CA, Nicholas J. (Joan) Holzmer of Hobart; 23 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; 2 daughters-in-law, Rosemary Thyen of Portage, Jeanne Thyen of Columbia Falls, MT; caregiver, Agnes Bochnowska. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Louis; two sons, Robert and Edward Thyen; daughter, Anita Harney Howard; seven sisters, Marie Kellen, Florence Hahn, Helen Hopkins, Sr. M. Evelyn (Clara) Holzmer, Infant Anna, Colette and Jane Holzmer. Parish Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 3 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 30, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. from Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart and to St. Bridget Church at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial, Rev. Dominic V. Bertino officiating. Burial Calvary Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 2-8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
