Frank R. Burgess

I was a toddler when my parents joined First Presbyterian Church of Bellevue, which was meeting in Green's Chapel of Flowers (funeral home) in downtown Bellevue. I remember my parents talking about how good Rev. Burgess' sermons were, and how fortunate this new, young church was to have such a wonderfully talented and wise minister. Frank will be remembered for his outstanding sermons by many of his parishiners. We were priviled to be in his first 150 Bellevue members years ago and the church grew rapidly. I taped and trans-scribed his sermons for the congregation to re-read. Frank will be remembered as well as Helen for her excellent organ playing.

Here in the Presbytery of Central Washington we are reminded of the many gifts of ministry Frank Burgess gave to our congregations. While we mourn his loss, we celebrate his presence before the throne of Grace. Because of Frank, we know the presence of Christ in the lives of many.
