Not sure what to say?

Hearing "Morgen Blaetter" and Fred's voice at noon is one of my happiest and most evocative memories of life in Ann Arbor. I wish I had known him personally...but I feel as though I did.

I'm so sorry to hear that Fred has died. He loved life so much, and he knew how to live it and get the most out of every day. He was just a fun guy to be around. A life well lived, indeed.

Go into AnnArbor.com and click on "All Topics and Neighborhoods" and then click on "Passions and Pursuits." Scroll down to find a reflection I submitted about my relationship with Fred.

I am sorry to hear about Fred's passing. I wish I could attend the open house, but no longer am in the area.

I will be there in spirit.

I've never met Fred Hindley, but his Noon Show used to be the highlight of my day. Nothing on WUOM has ever topped it. I've been missing him since his program was taken off the air.

I have and will miss Fred very much. I spent many weekends out at Tobin Lake with him and friends in the 70's and only recently reconnected. I was looking forward to beginning a renewed friendship and will miss that opportunity sadly. He was great a guy.

Ah ... Fred, you will be missed. I have never met a kinder and more fun loving person. I can't be there but I will toast a glass of wine on the 20th will all of your friends.

From the moment I started work in August of that year until I left in the fall of 1982 for Chicago, Fred was supportive and critical in all the right ways. Like any outsize character, he was easy to imitate and caricature, but then again, that Is still the sincerest form of flattery! His style may no longer be in vogue and that is also sad, because informed and in-depth opinion is...

I am sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I worked at WUOM in the early 60's and spent many happy times chatting with him and listening from the console to his great voice and reassuring delivery. He was a classic radio personality from a now long broken mould. Rest in Peace.
