Dear Julie and family
Melissa and I are so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. I am grateful that we reconnected, but wish we had the time to visit before he died. His contributions to the disability community and independent living will not be forgotten. This experience we now share of losing our husbands and best friends too soon is almost unbearable, but I hope we can support each other through the process.

I am honored to say that I knew Fred. He was a wonderful and amazing man who knew no limits, no matter what obstacles came in his way. I think of his work for people with disabilities when I work with my own special education students. His efforts have already helped them through his work with ADA will directly benefit some of them they grow into adults.
