Gary was a great friend of mine growing up in Salem. He was a great guy, and although we had lost touch since then, it saddens me that he is gone. We had lots of fun cruising and playing in bands and even went on the road several times with bands back in the day. I heard that he had become a really great bass player since then and that makes me smile. I will never forget you old friend, and the great times we had will live with me always. God bless you and may your family somehow find comfort...

I knew Gary as a teenager growing up in Salem, Oregon. As a teen he loved life and lived enthusiastically. May his family and friends find comfort at this difficult time.

Gary was a dear friend in my teenage years and we shared a lot of fond memories - he was truly a larger-than-life character, always upbeat and with a very keen wit.... very sad to hear this news... My condolences to his family. RIP "Buster".
