Geneva Clarice McNeely Nolen was born April 30, 1954, to the late Fred McNeely and Mary McNeely. She departed this life on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
She attended Malvern High School and graduated in 1972. After graduation she started working at Hot Spring County Memorial Hospital as a switchboard operator and an admissions clerk and later was promoted to accounts payable before retiring in 2012.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Calvary Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Dr. J.W Harrison and later Bishop Robert G. Rudolph Jr. She was a faithful and active member in the church until her health failed her.
In 1971, she married DeWayne “Haticol” Nolen who preceded her in death. To this union three children were born.
Geneva was preceded in death by her aforementioned parents; three brothers: Eugene, Freddie Jr. and Samuel; five sisters: Malveline, Queen Ester, Dorothy, Sandra and Ruby Lee.
Geneva’s precious memories will forever live in the hearts of her three children: son, Kenneth (Samara) Nolen of Hot Springs, AR; two daughters: Brandi and Shanah Nolen both of Malvern, AR; seven grandchildren: Kennisha Nolen of Arlington, Texas, Rosshalah Matlock, Darion Weaver, Timberly Marks all of Malvern, AR; Samuel Nolen of Hot Springs, AR; Keelan and Akeelah Carter both of Malvern, AR; one great grandchild, Ayden Nolen of Arlington, Texas; two brothers; Eli (Betty) McNeely of Milwaukee, Wi; James McNeely of Little Rock, AR; one sister Missionary Mary McNeely of Malvern, AR; one uncle, Cleveland (Merle) Bass of Malvern, AR, one godchild, DaQuintes Parker of Malvern, AR. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Geneva’s Home Going graveside service will be held at 9:00 am, at Perla Cemetery, in Malvern, on Saturday, August 15, 2020, with Bishop Robert Rudolph Jr. delivering her eulogy. A walk through visitation will be held at Calvary Church of God in Christ in Malvern, from 3:00 – 7:00 pm, on Friday, August 14th. All COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. You must wear protective facial covering and have your temperature checked to enter the church.
