I did not know Dr. Dochat in a close sense, but met him a number of times when he was volunteering for the American Red Cross as a blood pressure reader. As luck would have it I ran into him again at his church where he would be serving as a host to would be blood donors. He was always gracious, and that made me feel pleased to be in his presence. I am glad to have met him, and to have enjoyed his services.

Dear Erma and Dochat family,
It was my honor to be a neighbor and friend to Dr. and Mrs. Dochat for a little over three years. Dr. Dochat was an inspiration to me..his gentle spirit, love of life, love of God, and keen interest in the continuing process of learning and growing.
He will be warmly remembered and treasured. My continued prayers go out to Erma and the family.

Dear Dochat family. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Dr. Dochat. I have had the opportunity to travel with Dr. and Mrs. Dochat and to do travel arrangements for them over the course of many years. I would like to say that I have never met a more pleasant, gentle man in my lifetime. He will be greatly missed. Erma and the rest of your family will be in my prayers.
