Humphrey, George Frederick, Jr. At his home in Campden, Ontario, Canada, after a long struggle with cancer, on Saturday, June 21, 2008, at the age of 62, attended by his devoted wife, Anya (Nancy); Fred is also survived by daughter, Claire Humphrey and her husband Bevin Reith (Toronto); son, Ted Humphrey (Hamilton); son, Gideon Humphrey and his girlfriend Lisa Pereira (Ottawa); mother, Virginia Humphrey (Minneapolis); brother, John Humphrey and his wife Carole (St. Louis Park); sister, Susan Barnett and her husband Steve (Anchorage, Alaska); sister, Virginia Ward (Knightdale, North Carolina); predeceased by father, George Humphrey. In life Fred was a teacher, photographer, fire fighter, audiophile, and loving family man. Intertwined with all of those, he was a committed student of Tibetan Buddhism. In death, he dedicated his suffering to the liberation of all sentient beings. Fred asked that donations in his memory be made to the Buddhist Foundation Karma Sonam Dargye Ling, 86 Vaughan Rd, Toronto, Ontario, Canada M6C 2M1, or to another charity of your choosing. The funeral was held Tuesday, June 21, 2008, at St Paul Street United Church in St Catharines, Ontario.
