Glenn Ramey Obituary

Glenn Thomas Ramey Jr.
March 18, 1956 - January 8, 2021
Macon, Georgia - Glenn Thomas Ramey, Jr. 64, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 8, 2021. A Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at First Evangelical Church with the Rev. Tim Long, Rev. Taylor Carter and Rev. Brian Everett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Evangelical Church, c/o Playground Equipment, 3601 Fulton Mill Road, Macon GA 31206 or Caring Solutions, 1044 Washington Ave., #104, Macon GA 31201. Face mask will be required and will be provided and social distancing is required.
Due to Covid concerns, the family will not be having a visitation, but if you have a memory or thought you'd like to share feel free to email [email protected].
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Thomas and Edith Ivester Ramey. He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Glawson and niece, Callie Glawson.
Glenn played football at Jonesco Academy, graduating with the class of 1974, and played softball for many years at Central City Park. He later took up golf and loved playing 18 holes (or more) with his friends many Saturday mornings.
Glenn and his wife, Kathy, were married in June 1977, and later welcomed their two children, Ashley and Mathew. Glenn was so proud of his children, and later became PaPa to his three grandchildren. His family meant everything to him and he would have moved heaven and earth for all of them.
After a successful 28 year career with Coca Cola, Glenn briefly retired before reentering the work force as a Financial Planner with Christy Capital Management. This new career allowed him to help people plan for their families and their futures and enabled him to fulfill his heart's desire and passion to do something that made a difference in people's lives.
Glenn was an active member of First Evangelical Church where he began attending in 1976. He loved his church and church family and was happy to serve wherever he was needed.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Kitchens Ramey, daughter, Ashley (Skylar) Lipson, son, Mathew Ramey, three grandchildren, Harper, Audrey, and Maddox, sisters, Cindy (Terry) Sill, Cathy (Michael) Hamilton, Leslie (Larry) Robinson, nieces and nephews, Ken Sill, Lisa (Cory) Whitfield, Angel Sanders, Liz Glawson, Bud Glawson, Rick McMillan, Dana McMillan, Wendi (Mitchell) Helms, Brad Hodge and Philip (Lauren) Hodge.
