Heavenly Gate Funeral Home & Chapel - Midland Obituary

     Gustavo Gutierrez Salinas, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the age of 86.  He lived a long life filled of hardships he overcame and many blessings he received.  He was born in Los Herreras Nuevo Leon, Mexico.  He was the second to the youngest of 16 siblings.  He worked as a migrant worker, a laborer, and various other jobs.  He took pride in his family, home, and gardening.  He was a man of faith.  He was quick tempered but soft hearted.  He is survived by his wife Maria Salinas of Midland, daughter Gabriela Ochoa and son in law Ramiro Ochoa, daughter Aracely Yates and son in law Malcolm Yates, and son Rogelio Salinas and his wife Elsa Salinas.  His grandchildren, Mia, Diego, Kristian, Sebastian, and Matthew.  He is preceded in death by his parents Maria de la Luz Gutierrez and Cruz Salinas.  Followed by six brothers and four sisters. 


     Viewing, will be at Heavenly Gate on Sunday, October 30 from 1 pm to 9 pm.  There will be a Rosary Sunday evening at 7 pm.  A Memorial Service at San Miguel de Aracangel Catholic Church on Monday October 31 at 10 AM.  Followed by the Burial at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.


     The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful neighbors who were always there for Don Tavo or Tavito as he was called, Mr. and Mrs. Presiliano Natividad, Mr. and Mrs. Jose Yharte, Mr. and Mrs. Roberto Lozoya, Jessica Lozoya, Ben Ozuna and Arturo Trujillo as well as Daniel Dominguez who was such a good loyal friend to the family.
