Guy H. Jr. "Bud"
Guy H. Mansfield Jr., age 76, of Ida, MI passed away November 27, 2014, surrounded by family and friends. He was born July 18, 1938, to Guy H. Mansfield Sr. and Margaret (Rode) Mansfield in Toledo. He graduated from Macomber High School in 1956 and graduated from Owens Community College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for various companies in the Toledo area as a machine designer, Toledo Scale, Baker Bros., B.R. Bakers, Doehler Jarvis, Surface Combustion, S.S.O.E., Ort Tool & Die and AVCA Corporation. He was a member of the Ohio National Guard obtaining the rank of Sgt. He was a lifelong member of Reformation Lutheran Church serving on church council, the property committee and scoutmaster for Troop 185.
He is survived by his daughter, JayLene Mansfield; ex-wife, JoAnn (Johnston) Mansfield; his life partner, Judy-Ann Rife; sister, Barbara DuVall; grandchildren, Georgianne Marks, Wayne Marks, Brandi Nagy; great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Andrew Driebergen, Serenity Nagy-Paschalis, Abbey (Marks) Rice, Joshua Shields; many nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and NASCAR racing. He also enjoyed woodworking.
He will be shown at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home, 3219 Tremainsville Rd. 419-473-1301, Wednesday, December 3, 2014, from 2-8 and services will be at Reformation Lutheran Church Thursday, December 4, 2014, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Ottawa Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

Words can't express how saddened I am to learn of Guy's passing. He was a wonderful man and I am truly honored to have him as a friend and "live in-in-law" for 18 years. He had a good heart. May you be surrounded by love and comforted by the memories of your time together.

Bud was one of the best and kindest people I know. Bud always took the time to visit with people who were sick and in the hospital, and made sure he talked with me at church. I will miss him and his hunting stories.

I am so very sorry for your loss, but I know that he is in a much better place, and able to do the things he hasn't been able to do for a long time. Bud meant so much to so many people, and he will be truly missed. He was a good friend to me for so many years, I don't remember not knowing him.I'll miss seeing his smiling face on Sunday mornings.
