Not sure what to say?

Dr. Chaiklin was one of the first Professors at the School of Social Work. He had good ideas and Dr. Lewis turned to him often for suggestions. As Dr. Lewis's Secretary, I also turned to him for advice as did the students. Dr. Chaiklin will be missed by all. God Bless and bless Mrs Chaiklin. She often visited the School when we were located in the first "Garage" and she gave me much needed help and advice.

Harry Chaiklin was a dear friend during our first year at Yale Graduate School. He and Sharon took this naif under their wings. They offered friendship and guidance in what was a strange, sometimes forbidding environment. Our paths diverged (I had two years of Army to do.) but we kept in contact for a good number of years. He was a dedicated sociologist. Sharon was an important figure in dance therapy. Together, I think the contributed in many ways to make this society somewhat more...

Dr. Chaiklin was my favorite professors at the MD School of Social and one of the first 3 professors at the School. I was Dr. Lewis's secretary from the day the school began and before faculty were hired. Dr Chaiklin was liked by all the students. I was fortunate to have a wonderful relationship with both him and his wife and I learned much from both of them. My blessings to his family..... Brenda Kelly

Dr. Chaiklin was a major influence in my doctoral education. He also continues after his death to inspire me in my work to integrate clinical social work and clinical sociology. Although my condolences are belated, they are deeply felt. Larry W. Whorley, DSW, LCSW, C-CATODSW

Dear Sharon, I just learned of Dr. Chaiklin's death. My love and heartfelt thoughts are with you and your family. I was so fortunate to see him at a SSW Reunion some years ago and describe to others what the School looked like back then. Bless you and your family and may our paths cross again...always, Brenda Kelly

My condolences to the Chaiklin family. Harry was the best teacher I ever had. Sometimes I didn't understand him. Then, 10, 15, or 25 years into social work practice, the light bulb would go off in my head-Ohhh- that's what Harry meant!
Not many teachers can teach years after the teaching is done.
Challenging, warm, and caring, always the friend I carry in my heart.

Dear Nina and family,
So very sorry to hear of your Dads passing. Prayers and hugs to you. I lost my dear dad 15 years ago and it feels like yesterday. Remembering the fond and happy times will ease some of the pain. He is now an angel on your shoulder.
Contact me Nina if you want to talk,

I am a former student of Dr Chaiklin. In 1970 he introduced me to new ideas that are still with me in my own work as a clinician and teacher. It was a transformative time. He challenged all of us to go beyond our own limitations. My condolences to his entire family. Dr. Chaiklin distinguished himself as a teacher, mentor and humanitarian. In his passing he left us with gifts to pass on to others.
