Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Hank Payne's death and my thoughts for continued healing go out to his family and friends.
I knew him in Worcester at Chandler and Classical where he was known for his intelligence and leadership skills.
What a remarkable, accomplished life he led. I'm sorry it ended so soon.

Hank Payne was the reason I majored in history at Colgate. No one challenged me more. Jonathan, I used to baby sit you. One night your parents came home and you had been up crying -- you were just a few months old. Your Dad wiped your tears and swept you up in his arms. You stopped immediately.

To the family of Dr. Payne -

I wish you the greatest peace.

I will always remeber Dr.Payne through the Woodward Academy experience and on forth to college. There are not enough words to explain how mush of an effect he had on the fellow students of Woodward and me myself. He was a kind and caring man. I will keep him and his family in my prayers.

I was a student of Dr. Payne at Colgate, and to this day his influence as a teacher lives on. He set such a high standard for living; as students, we just tried harder for him. Through his life he demonstrated that serious thinking and fun can go hand in hand. Gods blessings to Dr. Payne, and his family.

I am so sad for your sudden loss. I hope the good wishes and prayers of friends and strangers do a little to help you through this terrible time.

Deborah and family,

I always regarded Hank as the person to whom I was closest at Yale. His support and and your friendship helped me through the first years. He was a gentle man, in the best sense of the term.

Deborah and family,

I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Hank's passing. Having roomed with Hank at Yale, I remember Hank as a person of great intelligence and compassion. Leslie and I offer our sincere condolences and sympathy.
