Bailey Funeral Home - Springhill Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Helma Mayer Harlon, age 73, will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:00 am in the Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill with Dr. Fred Malone officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will begin Friday at 5:00 PM until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harlon was born October 2, 1940 in Aufkirchin, Germany to Josef and Magdeline Mayer and passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 in Springhill, LA. She had been a resident of Springhill since 1957, was a homemaker and loved hunting and fishing. Mrs. Harlon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Smith and husband, Milton of Liberty, MS; sons, Eddy Harlon and wife, Ruby of Crewe, VA, Reini Harlon and wife, Angela of Waldo, AR; seven grandchildren, Shaina Kinabrew and husband, Kyle, Kristin Delaughter and husband, Brad, Melanie Smith, Corbin Harlon, Chad Harlon and wife, Amber, Ashley Brock and husband, Garland, Chris Pope and wife, Nicole; thirteen great grandchildren, Kylie, Bryce, Jackson, Michaela, Jase, Olivia, Avery, Gage, Macy, Tori, Levi, Noah, Alina and a host of other family and friends.

Mrs. Harlon was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Harlon in January of 2013.

Honoring her as pallbearers will be Lyn Lee, Acie Orr, Alan Harlon, Steave Harlon, David McCuen and Bobby Tindall.
