JACK BARRON

1930 - 2017

Jack W. Barron died Wednesday, Oct 25, 2017 at 87 years of age. He was born in Handley Texas to Gladys Richardson Barron and Bingley Claude Barron January 20, 1930. He was reared in Big Spring, Texas. At Big Spring High School he followed his revered older brother as football quarterback with #22. He attended Howard County Junior College; and graduated Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico where he quarterbacked on a four year scholarship and was later inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame. He coached football briefly in New Mexico. He obtained his master's degree from North Texas State in Denton, Texas. In 1957 he married a widow, Elizabeth Mason Bauman and became the father of a four year old! In 1959 the family moved to El Paso, Texas. Jack was employed as an account executive with KTSM TV for thirty two years. His avocation was an owner of Coronado Cleaners. He was a past member of the Rotary Club of El Paso and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Jack is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his daughter Christine Bauman (husband David Mizener), grandchildren: Talor Mizener (Clare), Mackenzie Prude (Hunter), and Mason Elizabeth Mizener. Celebrating Jack's life with us were his nephews Mark Barron, Bruce Barron (California), Taylor Mason (San Antonio, Texas) Rich Welter (California), and Wesley Smith (Denver, Colorado). A private Memorial Service was held Sunday October 29, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Neal Locke Officiating. www.martinfuneralhomewest.com
