JACK W. HUTSON ~~ OLDEST SURVIVING PAST-PRESIDENT of the OAKLAND COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION; FIRST CITY ATTORNEY FOR TROY Mr. Hutson, age 98, died on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Silverbell Manor in Lake Orion, Michigan. He was born on January 10, 1913 in Tuscola, Illinois to Clell and Mary Olive Davis Hutson, but lived most of his life in Royal Oak, Michigan. Currently he had been a resident of Helena, Michigan. Jack graduated from Northern High School in 1928, attended Lawrence Technological University, and earned a Law Degree from Detroit College of Law. He was a practicing attorney in Royal Oak and Troy (Michigan) from 1941-1980. Mr. Hutson was the first city attorney for the City of Troy, and wrote its charter. He was also the oldest surviving past-president of the Oakland County Bar Association, and he was often described as having the demeanor of a Bantum Rooster in the courtroom. Mr. Hutson was enthusiastic about life. He was an avid golfer, skier, pilot, painter, woodworker, tilter of windmills, and builder of articles that weighed too much to move. In addition to his membership in the Oakland County Bar Association, he also was a member of Red Run Golf Club and the Royal Oak Exchange Club.
