James E. Jones, 63, of Peoria Illinois, died at 12:43am on April 25, 2023 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria where he then gave his last gift through Gift of Hope as an organ donor. Born in Peoria to the late Robert and Valerie Jones, he married Karen Johnson on October 28, 2005 in Peoria. She survives.
Jim was a baker, a professional donut maker for over 30 years. He started his career at Mellow Cream, then Lester’s Tasty Donuts, with him retiring from Ron’s Donuts in 2023.
First and foremost, Jim loved the time spent with his wife, kids and grandkids. He loved fishing and playing video games with friends.
Jim is also survived by his children Jimmy (Jess) Jones of Peoria, Timothy Burke of Peoria, Sandy Johnson of Abingdon, Jasmine Bishop of Peoria and Amy Jones of Washington. His siblings Robert (Carolyn) Jones Jr. of New Smyrna Beach Florida, Regina Green of Washington Illinois, Russell (Carol) Jones of West Peoria, Varinia (Don) Bush of Canton Illinois, Gail (Greg) Dennis of Peoria Illinois; grandchildren Sara Stockman of Johnston Iowa, Byron Stockman Jr of Abingdon Illinois, Isaac Stockman of Abingdon Illinois, Lennon Jones of Peoria Illinois, Xzavier Marizetts of Abingdon Illinois and Dalton Jones of Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date. Cards can be sent from and condolences left at illinicremation.com.
