1930 - 2016 James Landry, Sr. was born December 8, 1930 in Beaumont, TX, to Albert and Euphamia Landry. He received his education within the City, graduating from Charlton Pollard High School in 1949. After graduation, James entered the United States Military, performing brave service, earning three Battle Stars, and a Purple Heart. After distinguished tours of duty while in the Army, James returned to Beaumont. He was employed by Heritage Refinery, where he remained employed as the Refinery changed names as Magnolia Refinery, to Mobil Oil. He provided exemplary service for over 30 years, retiring in 1987. James married Ella Mae Stagg on December 15, 1961, providing true love and being thoroughly loved by Ella, for the past 55 years. Home-going Services will be held at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, 3390 Sarah Street, Beaumont, TX, 77705 on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Visitation and spoken memories will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., with Mass beginning at 10 a.m. Comeaux Community Funeral Chapel, 624 Irma Street, Beaumont, TX, is providing and conducting final Christian arrangements. On Friday, April 1, 2016 there will be a visitation at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. - 5 p.m. Entombment will be at Magnolia Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents. And three sisters: Lucille Rougeau, Catherine LeBlanc and Maudry Plummer. James is survived by his wife, Ella Mae; children, James, Jimmy (Alberta), Michael, Belinda Stevenson, Kimberly Lewis (Harold), Kenneth (Angela), and Kentrick (Tonya); twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; other relatives, Carol Schexnayder, (Tommy) and Claudius Stevenson; god-children, Ronald Antoine and Patrice Morris; a host of nieces, nephews, many other family and dear friends.
