My husband, Bob, and I were good "Old" friends of Jim and Ruthie....we rode around Winona in Jim's blue Model T Ford with painted red rims....and rode down river on the pontoon many times.
Fun times at St. Teresa events, doubling dating, and always laughing at the "dumb" things Jim and Bob thought were funny!!
Blessings to you as you mourn the loss of a wonderful person...Ruthie, too, was the greatest friend ever!!!

My dad, "Jimbo" as we called him, was a wonderful father and great husband to our mom Ruthie that he now joins in heaven. He truely lived a full life. From his days in Winona working on the mud works with Tommie Richards, selling Pepsi at the beach during the depression, the Jimmy James band, the Mertes boat harbor that he built and ran (he had a huge love of boats and music). Then on to bigger things in Little Falls with Brunswick and Larson boats to a fantastic career at Electro Craft...

I worked with Jim for 20 years at Electro-Craft. He was a true gentleman. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
