James Dillard Smith, Sr., a native of Columbus, MS and a resident of Denham Springs, LA, passed away at West Feliciana Hospital on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 79. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He spent his entire career as a truck driver. James is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn Kile Smith; children, Ricky Kimble, Roger Allen Smith, Michael Kevin Smith, Sr. and wife, Terri, James Dillard Smith, Jr., and Renee Smith Bridges and husband, Mark; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Taylor Smith, Charlie Chatham, Sue Chatham, and Johnnie Sanborn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cobie Smith and Margaret Chatham; siblings, Sarah Margaret Smith and Jerry Arnold. Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, LA on Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 11 a.m. until Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow on the grounds of Evergreen Memorial Park.
