Janet was a wonderful friend and teacher. We will aletas miss her. Carmen Sweezy

I just learned about Janet´s passing. I am very sad. She was the most wonderful friend. She will always be missed. I send my condolences to her family

UntiI I read Janet's obituary I did not know she and I had almost the same bachelor´s degree - one in journalism. Mine would've been same had WMU offered a major in it at the time. Instead, I minored in journalism (which WMU did offer). That new info only further confirms what I already knew -- Janet was and continues to be an academic, professional, and personal role model for me. From her I first learned what a Master of Fine Arts degree is, and that I could earn one in creative writing, as...

Jan was my first yoga teacher, in the 1970's. She was extremely kind to me, as she always was to everyone. She opened a whole new world of health and peace to me. I will always love and revere her.

We have known Bijoy and Janet for many years since we started work at the old UpJohn company. Janet was always welcoming with a smile on her face, a truly lovely person. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Bijoy and your family who will truly miss her. May her soul rest in peace. Narima & Dave

So sorry to hear of Janet's passing. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Attended and admired Janet´s yoga classes at YMCA. She will be missed. Accept our heartfelt condolences. May her soul Rest in Peace

Jan and Bijoy were the first neighbors when we arrived in Kalamazoo on Roseland Ave. in 1962. They were great neighbors and I played badminton with Bijoy who intoduced me to the sport. Jan was such a kind and devoted, smart lady who was very gracious. We pray peace and comfort to the family. Dr. Robert and Sally Hosack

My deepest sympathies to all Jan’s family. I am so grateful for Jan’s teaching, words of encouragement and gentleness. Her voice is with me in times of stress and always will I remember the peace she brought to all.
