Habing Family Funeral Home Obituary

Jenny Velasco was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Gilroy, California with her parents when she was fourteen years old. She graduated from Gilroy High School where she made many friends and memories. She attended Gavilan College and transferred to UCLA, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Geography and Political Science. She then returned to Gilroy, where she worked as a real estate agent and for several non-profit organizations. Jenny loved funny movies, many kinds of music and was a devoted caretaker of the many dogs she rescued from local animal shelters. Jenny came from a BRCA1 family, and was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in 2009. She fought bravely and beautifully for nearly three years. She leaves behind her parents Salvador and Paula, older brother Victor, and many family and friends who love her dearly and will always treasure the joy she continues to bring into their lives.

Vigil service 7pm Tuesday, April 17th at St. Mary Catholic Church. Funeral Mass 9am Wednesday, April 18th also at St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
