Not sure what to say?

I remember Dr. Poland taking some friends water skiing. He was driving the boat. The skier dislocated his shoulder and Dr. Poland brought the boat into the dock where I was. He quickly took control and put the injured man's shoulder back into place. Dr. Poland told the man he could go ahead and pass out and immediately, the man did. The injured man was lucky to have Dr. Poland there to help him. It was quite amazing.

I loved this man. Fantastic boss, humanitarian and overall human. This accident saddened me tremendously. Big loss for the world. (Threw the best parties in the world for his employees, sometimes at his ranch up north. Best guy!)

HE WAS SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!

My condolences go out to the Poland`family.
I can not believe he is gone.
I met Dr. Poland in 1994 when he performed RK vision corrective surgery on both of my eyes. I was very happy with the results.
I remember him telling me stories about going to the U of M with the famous Bob Dylan, and missing an opportunity to buy the Crosby Mines Recreation Area in the 1970's for cheap, and many other interesting stories.
To me, he was much more than an "eye doctor".
Sometimes my...

I saw Dr. Poland as a girl as he handled my recurring eye infections. I was in his office as often as three times each week as he monitored my health. Years later, I still saw him as a patient while I was in college and he used to tell me stories about his time in Kappa Sigma and we would laugh about how little fraternity and sorority life. Although he moved away from the Twin Cities years ago, I have missed him and have struggled to find an ophthalmologist who I trust as much as I trusted...

So sorry for this horrible loss. I have Dr. Poland to thank for my excellent vision after my Lasik in 2008. Prayers to the family.

Our sincere sympathy to the Poland family. God be with you all.
We've known Jerry for close to 60 years and have deep respect for him. We knew Jerry as someone who treated others with kindness and respect. He was serious, but had a great sense of humor.
We hope his legacy lives on. The world is a better place because of his dedication, and the kind of man he was.
He will be sadly missed.

I recently heard the sad news. Condolences to the Poland Family.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I met Dr Poland over 10 years ago when I had lasik. We got to know each other and he found out about my sons. He offered for me to fish on a couple of his lake properties. My sons and I will never forget the trips and the generosity of such a gentle man
