Not sure what to say?

He was probably the most honorable and kind man I ever met. I had the utmost respect for him. We became friends in the late 70s and early 80s. He was my partner on a number of cross country ski wilderness treks in the early 80s. During those adventures, I got to know him very well. He was a true gentleman. He encouraged me as a construction worker to go into business for myself, and offered advice and shared his wisdom to help mein reaching that goal. A business which thrived for 28...

Jim and his family were our closest neighbors and friends growing up on Pollard Avenue. Kind-hearted, generous and smart, Jim was always there for us, especially so after our mom passed. Sending love and good thoughts to Mary Jo and the boys and the entire Streng family. An honor and a privilege to have known Jim Streng; may his memory continue to be a blessing for us all. For all times, Jan Egan and family

Jim and I worked together as partners on several development projects in the Yolo County area. My best memories of Jim are the phone conversations we had several times a year dealing with an business issue. I always enjoyed them and knew he would tell me how much he enjoyed our relationship and how happy he was with our performance. I agree that he was a kind man and I always felt he was interested in me as a person, not just a partner. I miss him.

In 1978 we purchased a Streng home on Superb Circle in Elk Grove from Jim - his salesperson was on vacation. We reluctantly sold the home in 1986 and moved to Fair Oaks. I miss that house to this day. We helped campaign for Jim when he ran for the Board of Supervisors. He remains the only Republican I have ever voted for. He was such an asset to our community and a fine human being I´m so glad to have known. My deepest condolences to Mary Jo and the Streng family.

My husband Carlos and Jim were long time friends from the Oakland Ski Club and then they became neighbors in Fair Oaks. We campaigned for Jim when he ran for County Supervisor. A delightful gentleman who changed the landscape of Sacramento with Streng homes. Thinking of you, Mary Jo and the boys. Lynn Brown Hillman

Jim was my next door neighbor for the past decade plus. It has been a delight and honor to live next to Jim. He always had a bright and sunny disposition but was also thoughtful and wise. Our entire neighborhood group loved him dearly.

We have a Streng home and still remember how gracious he was in adopting some changes to the basic design. We just love our home of over 50 years. Also remember Jim and Mary inviting us to see their home on the American River bluff. Thank you Jim for being a wonderful person. Les and Caroline Ouchida

I worked with Jim many years ago, and he was one of the best employer and friend anyone could ask for. My prayers go out to the family and all his friends. He will be missed and will not be forgotten. May he rest in peace and his memory live on in our hearts.
