Jimmy Dove

Jimmy Dove, 63, of Calhoun Falls, husband of Pat Brown Dove, died peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Hospice House in Greenwood. He was born in Abbeville, SC to Barbara Burton Dove of Calhoun Falls and the late Paul Dove. Jimmy was a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School, Class of 1969. He was employed as an Insurance Agent with American General Life and Accident Insurance Company. Jimmy was a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church where he served numerous years as a Deacon and was currently serving as a Trustee. His most enjoyable job with the church was working with the children and youth and was the Assistant Teacher in the Children's Department. Jimmy was an avid Blue Flashes and South Carolina Gamecock Fan and loved working in his yard. He was affectionately known as the "Bubble Gum Man" to all of those who knew and loved him. Mr. Dove is survived by his wife of 45 years of the home; two sons, Rick Dove and his wife Vanessa of Simpsonville, SC and Matt Dove and his wife Christy of Murrells Inlet, SC; three brothers, Tommy Dove and his wife Karen of Calhoun Falls, Donald Dove of Calhoun Falls, and David Dove of Texas; four precious grandchildren, Brice, Brooklyn, Breanna, and Shane; and numerous extended friends and family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 6:00pm - 8:00 pm in the Sanctuary of Northside Baptist Church Calhoun Falls. The funeral service will be Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 2:00 pm in Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Mike McMinn officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
