Jimmy Guin Obituary

NORTHPORT Jimmy Jason Guin, age 37, of Northport, died Dec. 7, 2012, at UAB Hospital. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Montgomery and Rev. Steve Stamps officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.B. Guin Jr. and Burnest and Lois Wheat.

Survivors include his wife, Kim Guin; stepson, Tanner Waugh; parents, Charlotte and Jimmy Guin; grandmother, Idona Guin; and mother-in-law, and father-in-law, Tommy and Cathy Grammer.

Jason will be missed by all who knew him. He was a loving husband and son and a very special friend to Tanner. He loved his job as a Northport Police Officer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Pallbearers will be Tim Frazier, Kevin Leib, Tom Kimbrell, Brian Christian, Terry Zilkie, Randall Dubose, Greg Durr, and Steve Wheat.

Honorary pallbearers are all employees of the City of Northport, his cousins, DCH Emergency Department staff, UAB staff, Northside High School Class of 1993, Gary, Robert, and Rodger Phillips, Steve Beasley, Michael Grammer, Chris Reynolds, Byron Bailey, Rocky Montgomery, Derek Fondren, and friends.

Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
