What a blessing to have known Joan since first grade! I'll never forget her coming up to reintroduce herself to me on the playground at Underwood Hills elementary in sixth grade, after she had moved back from Baltimore and we had moved from Chamblee. We've been friends ever since, despite the distance, because Joan was that kind of person--always loyal, interested in others, selfless. Heaven has gained a lovely, smiling angel! My sincerest condolences to Fanester, Jim, and the family.
