John McKenzie Beveridge, a resident of Stamford, CT, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at Norwalk Hospital, Norwalk, CT. Born July 17, 1932 in Glasgow, Scotland, he was the son of the late George McNeill Beveridge and Eliza Ann Smith Beveridge. He was 71 years of age.

Mr. Beveridge was a bagpiper in the Highland Light Infantry while serving in the military in Scotland. He worked for over 20 years as a project manager for M. R. Schoenbach in New York City, NY.

Mr. Beveridge was founder and pipe major of the Greenwich Pipe Band and former pipe major of the Glen Rock Pipe Band. He was also a long time teacher of the bagpipes and a member of the St. Andrew’s Society. He was also a former PSIA ski instructor.

Mrs. Beveridge is survived by four children, Iain McNeill Beveridge of Salt Lake City, UT; Karen Isabel Morgan of Darien, CT; Grace Anne Cassidento of Guilford, CT and Colleen McDermott of Milford, CT. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren. His former wife, Isabel Robertson Miner of Greenwich, CT also survives. He is predeceased by his wife, Grace Beveridge in 1994.

A Memorial Service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Darien, 14 Brookside Road, Darien, CT on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Ron Evans officiating. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Greenwich Pipe Band, P. O. Box 189, Greenwich, CT 06830.
