John DeLoach passed away in Carlsbad, California. The obituary was featured in San Diego Union-Tribune on March 18, 2017.
Even after a year it still is a shock on John's passing. Both John and Darrell were excellent sailors to serve with in VP-50. John always had a smile and had a warm positive and sunny disposition. We who knew and flew with John will always have a smile on our faces when we think of him.

I was one of those who was lucky enough to have John teach me how to shoot in the SDPD academy. He was always one of my favorite people. Great smile and laugh. Very patient and a great instructor. He became one of those people I always admired and respected. I'm sorry to hear he is gone. My condolences to his family. He will be fondly remembered by a lot of people.

It's difficult to find the right words to describe John. A man with a great heart, wonderful smile and such a hearty laugh. Kind, gentle and caring John will be in our hearts forever and though there are miles between us he is missed. No more long phone conversations May you rest in peace. you are missed by many who knew you.

We will miss our smiling neighbor!! Such a nice person to have as our trusted neighbor. I loved when he would bring us some of his "catch" when he went fishing! Would be so pleased of the catch of the day!

john was a good friend, co worker sdpd, and team mate on sdpdrc for years...sometime he would shoot better and sometimes no no...he will be missed and hopefully God has a place for him in his spirit of forever.....
