Not sure what to say?

Denny, Virginia and Family,

We are so sorry for your loss. We enjoyed meeting John during his visits to the Twin Cities and when we stayed with John and Virginia in Cleveland. We enjoyed his unique character, love for entertainment, and sly sense of humor. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.

Our best wishes for you!

Dear Virginia and my good friends Denny, Henrik & David,

What a devastatingly sad blow this news was. I can only imagine your pain and grief, but also the pride and love for the man.
This sort of news makes one reflective and I couldn't help but think back on the many, many hours spent by so many of us around the 'ol Hansen place, as you so generously opened your home again and again to a wide range of us for things as elaborate as the annual Christmas party to as simple as...

Manny Adler

He often asked about my own family as we compared notes on the joys of raising 3 sons. I know that John is...

The world has lost a very special person. Those of us who knew and worked with John are truly blessed to have known him. His dedication to the Bay Food Ministry for so many years touched many lives. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ginny and the family. May God wrap his arms around them all and give them peace. God bless them all. We will miss you, John. In Him, Kathy and Tong-Ha Rhee.

While completely comfortable driving our personal car in South Africa,I had never been behind the wheel of a VW minibus. Circumstances put me there one day in 2006 without prior warning or training and with six American visitors to accompany me. John, one of the travelers, volunteered to ride shot-gun as my co-pilot, in a seat much higher up than most and with very little car in front of you. He watched me explore the manual gears and the various controls before we took off. Once on the road,...
