I remover Mr. Raffo when I was a kid. He would sometimes let me ride the Sunset Scavenger truck. He always told me to keep my nose clean.

I can't tell you how huge of an influence John (aka The Wizard) was on my life. I worked at Peters & Wilson for a few years, but John's affect on me has lasted forever. I worked at Peters and Wilson Nursery in 1987-88 or so when I was just out of high school and John was my boss. I haven't seen him since I left there, but I have always thought about John Raffo throughout my life. He was so hilarious and taught me a lot. We got along so well, I think partly because we would talk about the old days and I would tell him stories about my Nona and the dishes she would make and all of the curse words she taught me. He would share stories about his life and growing...

Your dad was like a second dad to me. He was my first boss at Green Garden Nursery. On my very first day, at only 16 years old, John gave me the famous 'chain of command' which was first in line; John, then Phil, then Harriet, then the florist, then the dump truck, the van, then the loader...then there was me. His sense of humor was famous and laughter was always there somewhere. I never laughed so hard and certainly not at any other job later in life! He was my mentor far after I left the...

I will also remember John Raffo as a kind and loving father and grandfather. He always had a smile and a kind word. It was an honor to know him. My condolences to the entire family.
